Wilton’s Annual Town Meeting takes place tonight, Tuesday, May 5 at Middlebrook School Auditorium, and it begins at 7:30 p.m.. Following the discussion and meeting, including public comment, the town vote will commence at the close of the meeting.

The ballot includes one question on the combined town and school budgets, which has been proposed at $112,388,219. (The town budget proposed by the Bd. of Selectmen is $$32,432,195 (2.09 percent increase year-to-year); the school budget proposed by the Bd. of Education is $79,956,024 (1.98 percent increase over the previous year).)

There are also three bonding questions on the ballot this year:

  • $90,000 to study renovation plans for firehouse in North Wilton (Ridgefield Rd.)
  • $400,000 to repave the parking lots at Middlebrook and Wilton High School
  • $500,000 to replace the HVAC equipment and related electrical systems at Middlebrook School

Residents unable to vote tonight can also vote on Saturday, May 9.  The adjourned vote will take place at the Wilton High School Clune Auditorium from 9 a.m.-6 p.m..

Absentee ballots are available for eligible voters who cannot vote in person either Tuesday or Saturday. To cast an absentee ballots, voters must go to the town clerk’s office in person, beginning on Wednesday, May 6 through Friday, May 8. The town clerk’s office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m..
